KATHUA, Aug 9: Former Minister and president DCC Kathua Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today lambasted the BJP for exploiting the people of J&K and playing with their sentiments, especially of Jammuites.
“After conversion of J&K from state to UT, youth were specially allured by BJP on pretext that there will be ample job opportunities for them as many industries will come but on the contrary even the industries which are already running are on the verge of shutdown due to collapsing economy,” the former Minister said while addressing a public meeting at Block Ramkote of Billawar constituency.
He further said that instead of giving new jobs, BJP even took the jobs from hands of youth of J&K by bringing Domicile law which further snatched land and job rights from people of J&K. Coming heavily on BJP and its leadership, Dr Sharma said BJP has imposed “Jazia” on Vaishno Devi pilgrims by setting up toll plazas at Lakhanpur and Bann.
The senior Congress leader further criticized the BJP led Central Government for depriving the people of J&K of their fundamental right of access to internet for last 1 year. He said during past one year BJP has tried to suppress every voice raised against its atrocities by using police force and recent was use of police force on peaceful protest by congress workers against Lakhanpur toll plaza.
Dr Sharma said that BJP leadership always used hard times to bring such anti-people draconian laws as they know during times of curfews and Corona pandemic people can’t come on roads to protest. In last, he said people should not forget the misdeeds by BJP in J&K such as introducing domicile certificates, installation of toll plazas, 4G-network unavailability, job recruitment scam and many more, and should teach BJP a lesson in upcoming elections.
