NEW DELHI, Aug 10: One-week workshop conducted by the Department of Civil Engineering, Jaypee University of Information Technology, Waknaghat (HP) in online mode on “Sustainable construction practices for Civil Engineers” concluded.
The inauguration of the workshop was done by JUIT Vice Chancellor Prof Vinod Kumar.
The Convener of the program, Dr Tanmay Gupta, Dr Amardeep and Dr Aakash Gupta mentioned that the workshop was organized in online mode for the purpose of establishing a strong relationship between the Government officials of Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department (HPPWD) and Jaypee University of Information Technology.
In this workshop, the physical, chemical, and microstructure characteristics of bitumen, soil and concrete-linked ingredients were discussed, to make safe use of concrete and bitumen mixture design. Special emphasis was given on use of sustainable construction materials which are obtained from industrial waste.
Live laboratory sessions were held for the participants in order to give them exposure to testing and codal provisions.
More than 100 participants including Assistant Engineers and Junior Engineers from HPPWD and various academic personalities have been registered for the above workshop.
