JAMMU, Aug 11: A meeting of the Municipal and Urban Local Bodies Pensioners Association Jammu Province (MULBPA) was convened here today under the chairmanship of Y S Jamwal, its president, for highlighting the long pending demands, particularly enhancement of Medical Allowance.
The Association members expressed serious concern over unprecedented delay in issuing order for enhancement of Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 100 per month at par with Central Government and other Union Territories of India.
“It is not justified to withhold the benefits of Medical Allowance of pensioners as the cost of medicines has increased. Besides, the J&K UT Government has extended the benefit of Children Education allowance and Travelling Allowance to its employees in J&K at par with other UTs,” they explained while justifying their demand.
The Association also urged the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to revoke the order dated 24-04-2020 with regard to freezing of DA installment, which was due from January 2020.
The meeting was attended by K G Khajuria, B D Verma, Jawahar Lal Sharma, S Attar Singh, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Tarsem Lal Gupta, Indu Bhushan, J C Gupta, J R Sharma, R K Gupta, C L Koul, S K Jamwal, D P Kotwal, Bahu-ud-Dun and Daya Singh.
