Kathua Press Club holds general house meeting

KATHUA, Aug 11: To discuss further course of action, Kathua Press Club held general house meeting under the leadership of Chairman Manuj Kesar.
The meeting was attended by media members of various print and electronic media.
After the formation of Kathua Press Club in December 2019, it was the first general house meeting in which President of the Press Club Kathua Sanjay Pathak and General Secretary Harpreet Sethi highlighted various measures adopted towards the welfare of the club.
In his address Sanjay Pathak told that despite the situation arisen after COVID-19 pandemic, club had adopted several steps towards the welfare of the club. He revealed that for temporary office and for construction of building, club had met with DC Kathua.
“For temporary office, DC had given written directions to Xen PWD to arrange Government building. However, for construction of building, DC had issued directions to Revenue Department in written to identify land at proper location”, he said.
During the meeting the members unanimously decided to initiate membership drive to include new members in the club, following which a five member working committee was framed which includes Pradeep Sharma, Rakesh Sambyal, Shivam Singh, Shakti Sharma and Sachin Khajuria.
The meeting also took serious note over some members indulge in anti club activities. The house unanimously decided to issue showcause notice to them to take disciplinary action.
The house also asked the Government to issue special passes to media person on all Toll Plazas for free movement in the UT of J&K.
During the meeting, Vice Chairman Raj Kumar, General Secretary Harpreet Singh Sethi, Joint Secretary Mohan Sharma, Cashier Prabh Dayal and others members were present.
