Governor paid obeisance at Vaishno Devi Shrine

JAMMU :  Governor N N Vohra today paid obeisance at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Cave Shrine on the auspicious occasion of Ramnavami and prayed for peace and prosperity in the State.
Later, the Governor reviewed various development works under execution and discussed measures for further development of the Shrine area to provide improved and larger facilities to the visiting pilgrims.
With a view to enlarging infrastructural and other facilities, particularly to meet the growing shortage of lockers, the Governor asked for revisiting the Master Plan of the Bhawan area for some of the old structures being replaced by new buildings having the best possible facilities to meet future requirements of progressively increasing pilgrimage.
While inspecting the Dispensary at Bhawan, the Governor issued instructions for establishing a laboratory and an X-ray plant to facilitate the management of medical emergencies.
He also emphasised the need for flowering shrubs and creepers being planted along the tracks to improve the aesthetics and ambience of the Yatra routes and adding colour to them.
Referring to the need for enlarging facilities for the pilgrims at Adhkuwari, the Governor emphasised the need for preparing DPR for Adhkuwari to bring about continuing improvements in the infrastructural facilities and logistics.
