Jammu, Aug 14: Continuing the drive to provide better development & civic amenities to the residents of Jammu City, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation alongwith Anil Kumar Masoom, Councillor of ward number 10, conducted an extensive tour of the ward and kick started the construction work of lanes & drains in the market at JDA Complex Super Bazar near City Chowk, Jammu.
Mayor said that it was the long pending demands of the shopkeepers of the area and had been delayed only due to lockdown & non-availability of requisite construction material as well as the labourers. “Now the upgradation work has been started with the estimate cost of Rs 3.18 lakh only having about 250 ft length of the lane by lying of tiles and other related construction work,” he informed.
Mayor also announced that suitable benches will also be installed in the available space at corners of the JDA Market for sitting of customers and shopkeepers. Besides this, he added, plantation drive will also be done in the open space for making the environment more eco friendly & full of greenery.
Anil Kumar, Councillor also spoke on the occasion and thanked the Mayor & Engineering staff for fulfilling this pending demand of the shopkeepers to avoid further water logging in the market on a daily basis caused by broken drains and lanes.
Mayor directed the Engineering Wing to complete the upgradation of lane and drain of the market with quality material and upto the satisfaction of the shopkeepers within the stipulated time period. He also appealed to the general public to co-operate with JMC in various development works being undertaken by the department in various wards of the city as Jammu Municipal Corporation is committed to provide more and more development activities in Jammu City to make it neat, clean and green.
Sunil Kumar Sharma, Executive Engineer; Ram Paul Sharma, Junior Engineer JMC , concerned contractor as well as Raj Kumar Gupta, Ravinder Gupta, Ajay Gupta, Sanjeev Sahweny, Vishaw Partap Singh, Rahul Sharma, Jatinder Vaid, Vipan Malhotra, Tarun Gupta and other prominent shopkeepers of the market were also present there.
