JAMMU, Aug 14: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla has alleged that BJP Govt in Jammu and Kashmir did nothing for the people, which he claimed lacked in development and deserved better things.
“People of J&K have seen cross border terrorism, everyday strikes and what not. J&K people deserve better things in life, which have been denied during last six years,” Bhalla said while interacting with prominent persons of Langar area of Kunjwani ward -55 as a part of his door to door campaign to listen to grievances of people of Gandhi Nagar constituency.
Bhalla deliberated upon various day to day problems being faced by the public in the absence of any elected Govt and said that the onus is on the BJP which got huge mandate in the last Assembly and Lok Sabha elections as well as the current Lok Sabha elections besides being the ruling party at the Centre and State being under direct Central rule. He said that “people got nothing but miseries for their sin of giving mandate to this insensitive party in 2014. “Posing several direct questions to the BJP, Bhalla asked what they had done for Jammu despite being in the government at the Centre for more than six years and in the state for over three years. He said BJP rule would go in the annals of history as “most nightmarish misrule”, which brought miseries to the state in general and the Jammu region in particular.
He alleged that BJP is turning speechless whenever asked by the people to spell out even one single achievement they registered for the benefit of the Jammu region. He referred to nervousness in the BJP camp over shrinking of its space in Jammu and described its vein bid to reach out to the people as desperate manoeuvring to retrieve the doomed electoral prospect. He said BJP stands isolated in the region and cautioned people to guard against its designs to whip up passions by exploiting religious and regional sentiments.
