JAMMU, Apr 19: All Kashmir Muslim Migrants Committee (AKMMC) asked the Government to enhance the cash relief to the tune of Rs 10,000 per month, keeping in view the rise in the prices of the essential commodities.
In a joint statement issued by Sheikh Fida Hussain, president, All Kashmir Muslim Migrants Committee and Nazir Ahmed Lone, Vice President said that the Relief Organization asks for re-verification of all the migrants only during the month of April every year and creates hurdles in issuances of the new ration coupons to them, just for minting money.
They alleged that the Government is not paying any heed towards their demands including rehabilitation, job, migration certificates, PRCs, medial facilities and education facilities.
They demanded allotment of 1100 family quarters of Housing Department at Sunjwan in favour of muslim migrants, immediate disposal of files of Muslim Migrants lying pending since 2002 due to some unknown reason, concession in the fees for the students undergoing studies at various private, Government schools and colleges and induction of migrants in the Apex Committee instead of political and influential persons.
