SAMBA, Aug 17: District Police Samba in a swift action arrested the kidnapper and recovered the kidnapped girl from his clutches within two hours.
Police said yesterday a written complaint was received at Police Station (PS), Vijaypur from the mother of kidnapped girl, a resident of Vijaypur stating therein that her daughter (35 years old) who is mentally unsound has been kidnapped and raped by the accused person namely Sumit Choudhary, S/o Yashpal of Vijaypur Camp.
Taking cognizance of the matter, a case FIR No. 144/2020 U/S 376/366 IPC was registered at PS Vijaypur and manhunt launched to trace out the kidnapped girl. Acting swiftly, a police team of PS Vijaypur led by SHO, Sudhir Beotra with the help of locals of the area traced out the kidnapped girl from Vijaypur and arrested the accused within two hours who was hiding at Vijaypur town.
After completing the legal formalities the girl was handed over to her parents. People of the area highly appreciated the swift action of Samba Police in recovering the kidnapped girl. Further investigation of the case is going on.
