SAMBA, Aug 18: The residents of village Madhera area of Samba today staged a protest demonstration against the district administration Samba for proposing establishment of a solid waste treatment plant near their village.
A large number of the residents of village Madhera including male and female today gathered at village Madhera. They raised slogans against the district administration Samba. They alleged that the district administration, Samba is establishing a Solid Waste Treatment Plant near their village. Although the people of this area are already facing a lot of trouble due to pollution and are already in the grip of various diseases, the establishment of solid waste treatment plant in the village would add to the health hazards further in the area.
They were demanding shifting of the plant to other place because village Madhera is already a polluted village close to SIDCO Samba.
