KATHUA, Aug 19: The Municipal Council Kathua today said that Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Pollution Abatement of river Ravi and Ujh is ready for Sewerage Treatment in Kathua city Under National River Conservation Plan.
The President of Municipal Council, Naresh Sharma and Superintendent Engineer of Sewerage Jammu, Rakesh Gupta presented the reports in front of media person and Municipal councilors here, today. They said that the project having cost of Rs. 272 crore will cover 21 wards and its adjoining areas to make it pollution free and blockage free on the pattern of metropolitan cities. Moreover, 2,19,000 km area line length will include 7000 Main Hole Chambers and water treatment plant will be setup at Channgran village on 54 Kanals of land, they added.
They said that the project will beautify the city and give Sewarage system to cover the population upto 2053. The Municipal Council president, Naresh Sharma said that the project report will be submitted to Commission Secretary UEED Jammu and Union Minister in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh for early sanction. He said that the councilors of Municipal Council had to pay heed towards the project and put all efforts to prepare the DPR and allotment of land for water treatment plant.
Sharma said that Council is also working on some more projects for tourism development, children amusement parks, open yoga parks and water lakes besides the Ravi river to attract are also tourist.
