Srinagar, Aug 22: The Kashmir Markaz-e-Adab-o-Sakafat today organized an online program to release a book “Tawazun” written by Wali Mohd Aseer Kishtwari, former Director-General Accounts and Treasuries and to felicitate him with “Khilat-e-Noor” award 2020 as well.
The function was presided over by Professor Margoob Banihali whereas Mohammad Yousuf Teing was the chief guest.
Professor Mohammad Zaman Azurdah and Dr Roop Krishan Bhat were the guests of honour.
Nearly 30 men of letters across the country participated and spoke on the occasion.
It was the unanimous view of the speakers that by his hard work, Aseer Kishtwari has come to the limelight as a prolific poet, prose writer, researcher, historian and critic of Jammu and Kashmir whose three books Focus on Jammu and Kashmir, Tareekh-e-Awliya-e Jammu wa Kashmir, Safar-e-Harmeen have already achieved best book awards from the State Cultural Academy and Bihar Urdu Academy, Patna respectively.
Aseer is also a recipient of State-award. Terming “TAWAZUN” like a bucket of precious Sapphire cubes of Pardar, Mohammad Yousuf Teing applauded the literary works of Aseer which mostly got reference books status in the realm of literature.
In his presidential address, Margoob Banihali said that Aseer Kishtwaris is a multi-faced a personality whose research pursuits enabled him to become a top-class literary historian like Abdul Ahad Azad of the Kashmir valley.
Prominent Kashmir short story writer Autar Hogami presented a well-worded critical appreciation of “TAWAZUN” whereas Professor Azurdah and Dr R.K. Bhat appreciated the literary contribution of Aseer who according to them will prove a strong link between the present-day writers and the coming generations.
Expressing his gratitude to the Markaz and participants, Aseer Kishtwari said that whatever he has achieved is a net result of his close association with the prolific poets and writers like Rasa Javedani, Nishat Kihstwari, Mohd Yousuf Teing, Margoob Banihali, Zaman Azurdah, Bashir Bhaderwahi, Manshoor Banihali and others.
The program was ably organized and conducted by the noted writer Anayat Gul.
