JAMMU, Aug 24: The residents of Adarsh Vihar in Deeli area of Jammu city are facing lot of problems due to power and water crisis.
Members of the Adarsh Vihar Social Welfare Association led by S Balwant Singh, sought the intervention of Chief Engineer PDD (M&RE) and the Deputy Commissioner into the matter. They alleged that due to frequent break down of power supply for hours together, the locals of the area are facing lot of hardships. The matter was brought to the notice of JE, AEE and even the XEn no concerned improvement has been witnessed.
The PDD staff claimed that a local transformer is giving trouble. The locals demanded that this transformer be replaced or additional one of higher capacity be installed. With this the water supply has also been affected. Some commercial units in the area are consuming much power. The load is high and for them dedicated teranformer be installed, they added.
