Shaheedi Divas observed at Samba

SAMBA Apr 20: Minister for Public Enterprises, Haj and Auqaf and Floriculture, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed today said that martyrdom is not merely dying, but laying down one’s life for a cause.
The Minister said this while addressing Shaheedi Divas Samaroh organized by the president Dogra Sadar Sabha, Samba, Veer Bhoomi, Park Development Committee, Samba, War Memorial Committee, Samba, Kashtriya Rajput Sabha, Samba, Lions Club Samba and Duggar Manch Samba.
Peerzada said that the aim of organizing such type of programmes is to remember those who sacrificed their lives for the nation and to honor these extra ordinary people. He said that in doing their duty, our Jawans are making great sacrifices, ready to deploy at a moment’s notice and prepared to put their lives on the line to defend our freedom and our way of life. “They endure so the rest of us can live freely”, he said.
The Minister said that no matter where these men and women are serving or what mission they are supporting, they are making sacrifices for a better world. “We should always remember their sacrifice”, he added.
A colourful cultural programme of patriotic songs was also presented on the occasion. In the function wreaths were laid on the Samadhi decorated with multi colour flowers.
MLA Vijaypur, S S Slathia, Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Member CWC and President Dogra Sadar Sabha, Deputy Commissioner Samba Mubarak Singh also spoke on the occassion.
