SRINAGAR, Aug 25: CII J&K today organized a virtual interaction on ‘Revival of MSME’s and Small Businesses post COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir’.
During the interaction, Bashir Ahmad Dar, MD J&K SIDCO, articulated new land policies and land reforms and discussed on various ways to boost local industries and new investments in J&K. Responding to question from industry, Dar said that the Government is working on the pending allotments to the industrial units where they have already deposited payment to the Government.
Mahmood Ahmad Shah, Director, Industries and Commerce, Kashmir, in his address, illustrated on release of payments to the MSME units against supplies of various items to the Government departments. He also spoke on restructuring NPAs and informed about special provision for women entrepreneurs and startups in forthcoming land policy for industries.
Ashwani Kumar, Director, MSME Development Department Jammu, appraised on various schemes under the Ministry of MSME and requested CII for such furthermore interactions in order to create familiarization and awareness of recent initiatives and trends in SME sector during COVID-19 whereas Sanjay Gupta, Assistant Vice President, J&K Bank, informed on latest initiatives and schemes under Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan and assisted MSMEs on various credit guarantee schemes and eligibility for special window system.
Prof Deepankar Sen Gupta, HoD Economics, University of Jammu, initiated with the rationale for Government policies and briefed about major initiatives taken in other parts of the world to sustain Industries during COVID.
Earlier, Farooq Amin, Chairman, CII J&K, stated that MSMEs across India are badly hit due to this Covid situation and it is the need of the hour for MSMEs, Financial Institutions and Government to come together to work towards repurposing business plans, restarting operations, and protect employees and workers.
Ravnish Gulati, Vice-Chairman, CII J&K, concluded the interaction with a formal vote of thanks.
