SRINAGAR, Aug 25: Employees Joint Action Committee held general council meeting here today under the chairmanship of its President Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam.
In the meeting, 41 Organizations affiliated with EJAC participated. Various issues related to welfare of the employees and the organizational functioning of EJAC were discussed, informed Chief Spokesman EJAC Tariq Ahmad Sofi.
After much deliberations and considerations, various changes in the general body of EJAC were held for strengthening the organization, Sofi added.
It was unanimously decided that Mohammad Altaf Handoo, President Health Employees Confederation will now act as the General Secretary of EJAC, while Abdul Rashid Samboori, President Electrical Employees Union as Senior Vice President and Harpal Singh Pali, Senior leader of EJAC and JK Teachers Forum as Treasurer.
In the meeting all the organizational heads unequivocally expressed satisfaction in the leadership of Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam and also pledged full support to him.
The prominent leaders present in the meeting were Dr Manzoor (Lecturers Forum), Mohammad Altaf Handoo (Health Employees Confederation), Abdul Rashid Samboori (Electrical Employees Union), Harpal Singh Pali (JK Teachers Forum), Manzoor Ahmad Pampori (Urban Local Bodies Employees United Forum), Nazir Ahmad Mir (Non-Gazetted Forest Employees Association), Tariq Ahmad Sofi (Wildlife Employees Union), Malik Farooq (Non-teaching Employees Union), etc.
