VIJAYPUR, Aug 26: Former minister and National Conference leader Surjeet Singh Slathia today lamented over the disconnect of the administration with the people, saying this has accumulated public problems as utility services are in total disarray.
During the fourth leg of his public outreach programme, Slathia interacted with the people at Village Bakha Chack ,Mandlayal, Trindiyan, Bandral, Karalian and Bana Chack of Block Ramgarh in Vijaypur Assembly Constituency.
He urged the administration to synergise efforts to redress grievances of the people, especially on account of public utility services, saying the challenges are manifold, which call for a cohesive approach to solve these on an immediate basis.
He again sought regulated power and drinking water supply in the Constituency and hoped that the concerned departments will ensure proper functioning of various utility services by putting in their best. He said the people of the area were craving for development. He particularly highlighted the crucial role of the rural development department, saying the constituency being rural-oriented calls for a holistic approach with regard to prioritised development.
The former minister also referred to the burgeoning unemployment programme, saying the promises of jobs have proven as hoax as a result of which frustration is taking a toll of the educated unemployed as also the skilled and unskilled workforce. This is a problem which deserves priority of the administration, which has been claiming day in and day out about better prospects for the youth but actually nothing is emerging on ground zero. He hoped the administration would fulfill promises made to youth about jobs.
He was accompanied by senior functionaries of the National Conference who also interacted with the people and listened to their problems for raising these at appropriate forums.
