SAMBA, Aug 27: District administration Samba continuing its anti-encroachment drive at Birpur, today, dismantled an unorganised labour colony established on the State land adjoining SSS Plant which was dismantled four days earlier at Birpur, Bari Brahmana,.
During the anti encroachment drive Tehsildar Bari Brahmana, Qaiser Malik, SHO Arjun Singh besides other officials of Revenue and Police were present.
Giving details on the drive it was informed that following the four days earlier anti encroachment drive wherein a State and private land were illegally encroached by an affluent political leader at Birpur village, fresh attempts were being made to establish a unorganised labourers colony adjacent the SSS Bitumen Hot Mix Plant. However with timely interception of the district administration the attempts were foiled and the older constructed colony was also dismantled.
“Under over all supervision of the Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Rohit Khajuria, today a JCB machine was pressed into the action at the Birpur village location and all the ‘Jhuggi-Jhmpatis’ (labourers dwelling), sheds, which were on State and private land were dismantled” , the operation saw dismantling of 21 structures which were adjoining the farm house land which was demolished on 22 August after an anti encroachment drive besides a FIR has also been already registered against the encroachers on August 22 added the revenue officer”.
