ASKPC pays tributes to its former president

JAMMU, Aug 27: Rich tributes were paid to Ravinder Raina, the former president of All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC), who left his mortal world on August 20.
Those who attended the meeting included Vijay Bakaya ex Chief Secretary & ex MLC. He described late Raina as a selfless and dedicated community leader and social activist, who from his youth was actively associated with various KP and social organizations, serving the cause of the minority community. He recalled that the late ASKPC president volunteered to provide the basic infrastructural facilities to the community youth for Civil Services preparation, initiated by ex-administrators.
The Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner T.K. Bhat said ASKPC and the community has lost a genuine activist who has KP cause very dear to his heart. He implored upon the audience to follow the path and directions set by all the ex-leaders of ASKPC, which in itself would be the true Shradanjali to the departed leaders. Advocate Kashmiri Lal on behalf of PNBMT described the ex-ASKPC president as a veteran lawyer and a fine human being besides being a true community well-wisher.
B.L. Bhat ex-MLC revealed that though Raina was associated with NC for a very long time, he left the party when he found that the KP community interests would be served better outside it. Others who paid Shradanjali to the departed leader included Kuldeep Raina, president Samajik Vikas Sanastha, T.N. Koul president Muthi Camp, Dr Ramesh Bhat, T.K. Jigyasu, Bharat Bushan Gosain, Rohit Bhat (Vomedh theater) etc.
The meeting was organized by Dr T.K. Bhat general secretary ASKPC. The interim president of ASKPC .K. Wangnoo paid floral tributes to the departed soul.
The whole Executive Body of ASKPC including C.L. Bhat, Prof. Bhan, Tej Pandita, S.K. Raina, Veena Gurtoo and Ravi Ji, Sunil Bhat, Daisy Bhat, Ravinder Razdan, B.L. Wantoo, Shadi Lal Muju, R.L.Koul and others paid homage to the departed soul. A two minutes’ silence was observed and Shanti prayer was recited in his memory.
