KATHUA, Aug 28: One person died while another was injured when the car in which they were traveling plunged into Ranjit Sagar Dam this evening.
The deceased has been identified as Narinder Singh, son of Ashok Kumar while the injured has been identified as Vishal Sharma, son of Yash Pal. Both are the residents of Plassi Basholi. They were travelling in the car bearing Registration No JK02AJ 5560 and while reaching near R S Dam the driver lost the control on car and it skidded into RS Dam.
Both were critically injured when they jumped out of the car. Before it plunges into deep dam, both the inmates of the car jumped out of the vehicle and car submerged into dam. The local people rescued them. A police team led by DySP KD Bhagat rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to GMC Kathua. They were later shifted to Pathankot Hospital where Narinder succumbed to injuries. The Basantpur police started investigation into the matter.
