SAMBA, Aug 30: The relatives and friends of a patient who suffered a cardiac attack today protested in the premises of the District Hospital Samba for the failure of the hospital authorities to arrange an ambulance for shifting him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu in time.
As per reports, some people of Samba brought their relative to the District Hospital Samba, wherefrom doctors referred him to Jammu Medical College in view of seriousness of the case. The family dialed 108 and called the ambulance service, but it did not reach for an hour, forcing the family members, relatives of the patient and other people to hold the protest.
The protest was led by local Sarpanch, Ravinder Singh Lovel. He said this is not the first incident in DH Samba when the serious patients do not get the ambulance services in emergencies to be shifted to GMC Jammu or other specialized hospitals.
He said earlier patients also faced this problem and administration did not pay attention to it. However later the ambulance reached and the patient was shifted to GMC.
