NMC demands early release of 8% DA

JAMMU, Apr 21: Subash Shastri, president of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today demanded the early release of the pending installment of 8% Daily Allowances (DA) due from January last to the employees and pensioners of the State Government as a gift on the eve of May Day.
Addressing a well attended meeting NMC workers meeting at Jhiri, Shastri said that the price index is soaring and the salaried class and pensioners were suffering with multiple problems, adding that the Government should take care of the employees and pensioners and release the DA at an earliest.
The NMC chief also demanded the early formation of the policy with regard to daily rated workers for their regularization, merger of 50% DA into basic pay/pension, constitution of 7th pay commission and grant of 20% interim relief, enhancement in the monthly salary of daily wagers to Rs 10,000, regularization of the daily wagers who have completed seven years of service and increase of medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month.
Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion were Rajan Babu Khajuria, Vijay Kumar, Sham Lal, Sunil Kochhar, Rakesh Padha, Vijay Sharma, Anil Singh Salathia, Bhupinder Singh, Mohan Lal Sharma, Ghasita Ram, Amar Nath and Ashok Khajuria.
