Ramesh Manvati, convener of the organization while maintaining that move to give official status to Hindi, Dogri , Kashmiri and English in addition to Urdu is highly appreciable as an anomaly of decades has been removed by this decision by Union Government led by Narendra Modi complimented the PM and others behind the move.
Manvati demanded that at the same time Sanskrit be given its due place along with other languages and Sharda be included as additional script. He said Sharda has been in common use especially in Kashmir Valley for centuries in the erstwhile State before falling a prey to introduction of Persian as an official language. The Sanskrit language and its practitioners, especially Kashmiri Pandits have produced a great amount of literature that is too well known across the countries, he added.
Manvati said re-recognising the sacred language of gods and higher learning Sanskrit and her script Sharda will help ensure scholars, researchers and other discerning minds to unravel many of literary treasures that lie buried for centuries due to apathy and neglect.
