NEP a great move to meet new challenges: Priya

JAMMU Sept 5: Maintaining that Narendra Modi Government is all set to revolutionize the education sector in India, former Minister of Education, Priya Sethi today said that National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 will be a landmark in India’s history.
Priya Sethi added that this NEP 2020 is a historical move and was the need of the time. She added that the Policy which has been approved by the Government after wide ranging consultations is a major initiative to deal with the new challenges of the 21st century.
She complimented Union Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal for having done a great job under the supervision of PM.
“The NEP-2020 aims at making India a global knowledge superpower with focus on basic literacy and basic numeracy. Establishment of the National Assessment Centre – PARAKH to assess students will strengthen the basic academic system in the country. The new policy also focuses on vocational studies at school level, where every child will have to learn at least one vocational course, which will prepare them to identify life skills and by 2025, at least 50% learners at schools and higher education institutions will have exposure to vocational education,” Priya said in a statement here, today.
The former Minister termed the policy is comprehensive, holistic, far sighted and will certainly play a great role in the nation’s future growth.
