Forum for Awareness of National Security holds AGM

JAMMU, Sept 6: The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Forum for Awareness of National Security (FANS) was held today through virtual mode.
The meeting was attended by the presidents and organizing secretaries of 40 state and union territory chapters of FANS. Senior patron Indresh Kumar addressed all the participants and expressed satisfaction over the activities that FANS conducted during the current year. Air Marshal RC Bajpai (Retd) and patron of FANS and Lt Gen RN Singh (Retd) and president of FANS gave encouraging speeches.
In the AGM, the presidents of all the 40 chapters of the states gave overview of the activities they conducted in the preceding year and brought out the plan of activities for the ensuing year. Main satisfying activities included the help rendered to helpless migrant labourers and other segments of the society during these Corona pandemic times.
The activity of the year which got praises from all was the international conference held at Agra where ambassadors from around 17 countries participated and gave their inputs. International conference held at Jammu on 18-19 January 2020 was a great event where participants came from UK, France and even from Baluchistan Pakistan.
Maj Gen SK Sharma (Retd) and president of FANS J&K gave details of the main five activities conducted during the previous year which included Kargil Vijay Diwas, Haifa Libration Day, international conf on Fault lines in Pakistan and other activities. He said that the main objective of FANS is to create awareness among the citizens of J&K, with special thrust on youth.
In the concluding remarks, Gokul Bihari Rai, National organizing secretary FANS, stressed the need to help the society in these tough times and giving top priority to spreading awareness of security among the society.
