JAMMU, Sept 7: Non-Gazetted Police Pensioners Welfare Forum today staged protest demonstration and projected their burning issues here today.
The members of the Forum led by its chairman Ajit Singh, assembled near Press Club Jammu during the day today and started protest demonstration. They were demanding removal of pay anomalies in the non-gazetted cadre. They said many times protests were held and even reminders were given to the Government but nothing has been done in this regard.
They said last time also, it was assured to the Forum that matter will be resolved within a week but nearly an year has passed, no outcome was observed. Even the orders of the DGP were also not honoured.
They also demanded enhancement of Medical allowance which is presently given at the rate of Rs 300 per month. It should be hiked to atleast Rs 1000 per month.
They said there is stagnation in the lower ranks in the Police Department. Time bound promotions should be given to the Nan-Gazetted cadre in police. In view of Covid-19, the Police men from Kashmir Zone be posted in Kashmir and those from Jammu in Jammu zone, they suggested.
