JAMMU, Apr 22: Usha Vohra, First Lady, launched the year long Silver Jubilee activities to be undertaken by the Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Welfare Society, Rajiv Nagar, Narwal, at a function held at Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, here today.
Speaking on the occasion, the First Lady lauded the good work done by the Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Welfare Society for the past 25 years for the upliftment of children of the less privileged segments of the society. Referring to the cultural programme presented by the children on this occasion, she observed that the confidence, exuberance and joy demonstrated by them during their cultural performances indicate that they are highly talented and with appropriate encouragement they can bring laurels in their chosen fields of human endeavour.
Referring to the crucial importance of doing all that is required so that our children, particularly the girls, feel safe and secure, the First Lady called upon all the stakeholders and the society at large to spread out and bring everyone under the fold of right thinking.
