JAMMU, Apr 22: An Oversight Committee of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Ministry of Agriculture, New Delhi visited Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu to review the progress of various works being executed in the University under Prime Minister’s Special Grant of Rs 32 crore for strengthening the Agriculture Research, teaching and extension infrastructure for development of agriculture and animal husbandry in Jammu region of the State.
The Oversight Committee from ICAR comprises Dr A K Vashist, Asstt Director General (PIM) Davender Kumar Director Finance, Dr Vineeta Jain, Principal Scientist and from SKUAST-J Registrar, Estates Officer and PPMO.
The committee reviewed progress of various developmental works under execution at Chatha and R S Pura campuses of the University. The reviewed works included auditorium with a seating capacity of 1020, School of Bio-Technology, Seed Processing Laboratory, Sports and Livestock Instructional farm.
The committee was satisfied with the ongoing infrastructure works in the University and emphasized on the timely completion of the work.
Earlier, a meeting of the Oversight Committee was convened under the chairmanship of Dr Dilip K Arora, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-J in which a detailed power point presentation and deliberations pertaining to finance and execution were made by Dr Deepak Kher, Project Planning and Monitoring Officer (PPMO) and member secretary of the Oversight Committee.
