JAMMU, Sept 10: Police arrested two drug peddlers along with cannabis and heroin.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Peer Mitha Police Station led by SHO Inspector Nayat Ali laid a naka near JDA and intercepted an Innova car bearing registration number JK04D-1355.
During checking, police team recovered 240 grams cannabis from the possession of the driver and arrested him.
The arrested driver has been identified as Shahid Khan, son of Altaf Khan of Kathlhatth Tehsil Bonyor District Baramulla.
A case under FIR Number 53/2020 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Peer Mitha Police Station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Bakshi Nagar Police Station led by Inspector Manjeet Singh under the supervision of SDPO West Amit Sharma apprehended a person along with 12 grams of heroin from Maheshpura Chowk.
The arrested person has been identified as Rahul Kumar, son of Ashok Kumar of Bagh-e-Bahu, ay present Krishna Nagar.
A case under FIR Number 143/2020 under relevant sections has been registered at Bakshi Nagar Police Station and investigation initiated.
