NPP alleges irregularities in execution of works in Udhampur, demands probe

UDHAMPUR, Sept 10: Alleging massive irregularities and large scale violations of codal formalities in the execution of development schemes in district Udhampur during the past 5-6 years, the NPP leaders has urged upon the Lt Governor to hold a SIT probe into the total funds allocation to the district and the works actually executed on the ground during the period.
“Despite massive funding for various schemes, the delivery on the ground was conspicuously missing necessitating a high level enquiry into the swindling of tax payers money by vested political interests in collusion with unscrupulous officers,” stated the National Panthers Party leaders.
In separate memorandums submitted to LG Manoj Sinha, the NPP leaders Harsh Dev Singh and Balwant Singh Mankotia raised several issues seeking his personal indulgence for appropriate action at the earliest.
Pointing towards the huge devastation caused by landslides in Ramnagar constituency recently, Harsh Dev Singh sought immediate relief, rehabilitation with adequate compensation to the affected families for collapse of residential houses and other losses in Rasli Gaderan, Garh-Samnabhanj, Lah, Urkhal, Pattian, Jansal, Sundla, Babey, Sarl, Balota, Khaned and several other villages.
Drawing the attention of the LG towards the pathetic plight of Gaddis and Sippis residing in the hilly and remote belt of the district, Harsh called for constitution of a Development Board for these tribals on the pattern of Gujjar-Bakerwal Advisory Board. He called for early action with regard to the assurances given to Koli community for inclusion in ST category. He also called for immediate release of honorarium of VDC members and phased regularization of SPOs of Police Department.
Balwant Singh Mankotia highlighted the pressing issues of Udhampur constituency which included widening of Dhar road and Jakheni-Falata road, Solid Waste Project, Multi Storey Parking facility for Udhampur city, New Bus Stand, New Housing Colony, Agriculture University Campus, early completion of Devika Project, Park in Ward 3, Warehouse facility, Mini-Secretariat at Udhampur besides enhanced funding for various roads and WSSs of Udhampur and Chenani.
