Delegation of Ware House Nehru Market traders meets Advisor

JAMMU, Sept 10: A delegation of Traders Federation Ware House Nehru Market led by Rattan Lal Mahajan, Federation President met K.K Sharma, Advisor to the LG on Thursday and submitted a memorandum of demands. The delegation apprised the Advisor about the problems being faced by the businessmen of the Wholesale Mandi.
The Traders demanded ownership rights on land at the Mandi to make shelter for outside traders and workers who are forced to spend nights in open.
The delegation also demanded that nearby land should be allotted to the shopkeepers to construct godowns so that they can store their commodities.
Parking facility for cars, trucks and other load carriers,
blacktopping of the main road and other link roads of Ware House Nehru Market and at least 10 High Mast Lights along with replacement of damaged lights was another demand by the Traders.
Still another demand of the Traders was proper drainage system in the area.
The delegation members said, last year about ten cases of Dengue were reported from the area which remains filled with dirty water and heaps of filth.
The delegation members demanded deep digging of drains which remained chocked with filth and litter causing overflow of dirty water in the area creating unhygienic conditions.
They also said that dustbins should be installed at various points of the Mandi.
