Salal Power Station Head inaugurates CISF canteen

JAMMU, Sept 10: Head of Salal Power Station, N. Ram, General Manager (In-Charge) inaugurated the new CISF Canteen at NHPC Market Complex, Jyotipuram.
Dr. L. Bedajit Singh, General Manager (Medical Services), Jitendra Kumar, General Manager (Electrical), Suchit Tyagi, Commandant CISF and other officers of NHPC and CISF were also present on the occasion.
Opening of the CISF Canteen at Jyotipuram Market Complex was the initiative of Head of Power Station for the welfare of the people living in the residential colony.
Earlier, the Co-operative store run by Co-operative Society was operated in Salal Power Station which was closed for the last three years after which the employees and their families living in the residential complex were facing a lot of problems.
Earlier, the CISF canteen, which was running in a small room and due to lack of space it could not shelf more goods and in addition to this, buyers were finding it difficult to comply with social distance during COVID-19, keeping in mind the vacant building of the consumer store, same was renovated at departmental level and handed over to CISF.
With the opening of this Canteen, the residents of the residential premises will be able to buy the items of daily needs at affordable and cheap prices.
In addition, the Head of Power Station in order to promote and encourage the local handcraftsmanship has urged Suchit Tyagi, Commandant CISF to make provision for the sale of handmade items by self-help groups in this consumer store.
The Commandant assured the Head of Power Station that through this canteen, women of the surrounding areas would be able to get profit by selling goods made by them domestically.
