Prev B2V prog was eyewash: Panchayat Association

JAMMU, Sept 11: Panchayat Association of district Samba has claimed that the previous Back to Village (B2V) programme held in J&K was an eyewash.
In a press conference here today Vijay Kumar, Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa Chak Salarian said most of the Panchayats were not sanctioned the funds for the schemes and works of previous B2V programmes.
He appealed to J&K Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha to issue directions to the concerned authorities to approve those funds so that the schemes of previous B2V programmes may be seen on ground.
Kumar also said that competent persons from the 21 departments should be deputed for this B2V programme and a fix protocol should be there for Sarpanches under which they may bring problems of their Panchayats.
Association members also demanded implementation of 73rd and 74th Amendments of the Constitution to strengthen the local bodies in J&K.
Ram Pal Sharma, Ravinder Singh Sambyal, Daljit Singh, Kuldip Verma, Jagdish Bhatti, Kali Dass, Jatinder Singh, Tajinder Kour, Sukhdev Singh and others were also present in the press conference.
