Army soldier, 2 girls detained at Srinagar Airport

Srinagar, Sept 12: Tourist police today detained two girls from North Kashmir’s Bandipora district along with an Army soldier at Srinagar Airport.
Officials said that the girls along with the soldier were scheduled to board a plane bound for Delhi.
Both the girls whose names have been withheld hail from Ajas area of Bandipora.
They were later handed over to police station, Humhama.
Officials said the army soldier is being questioned while the parents of the girls have been called to the police station.
The army soldier has been identified as Lance Naik Ashok Kumar Paul son of Rajender Paul, a resident of Uttar Pradesh. He is deputed at Ajas Bandipora with 13 Rashtriya Rifles.
An Army official said that the motive behind their outside trip is being ascertained.
