2 die of COVID in Valley

Srinagar, Sept 12: Kashmir reported 860 COVID positive cases today taking the Jammu and Kashmir tally beyond 52000 while two persons died of coronavirus in Valley.
Those who tested positive today include 255 from Srinagar, 123 Budgam, 82 Baramulla, 50 Pulwama, 45 Anantnag, 108 Kupwara, 82 Bandipora, 10 Kulgam, 45 Ganderbal and 69 from Shopian in Kashmir.
As per officials figures, 11,489 positive cases including 248 deaths and 9,329 recoveries are from Srinagar, 3,580 including 70 deaths and 2,284 recoveries are from Budgam, 3,399 including 2,414 recoveries and 112 deaths are from Baramulla, 3,119 including 2,620 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Pulwama, 2,848 including 53 deaths and 2,119 recoveries are from Anantnag, 2,784 including 1,788 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Kupwara, 2,710 cases including 1,886 and 28 deaths are from Bandipora, 2,069 including 1,903 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Kulgam, 2,025 including 1,461 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Ganderbal and 1,865 including 1,688 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Ganderbal.
Of the total 52,410 cases, 35,897 are from Kashmir. In Kashmir, out of 35,897 cases 27,492 have recovered.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 16,261 including 7,684 from Kashmir division.
With 596 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 35,285 which is 67.32 percent of the total cases which was over 78 percent few days before.
Kashmir reported two more COVID-19 deaths today taking the death toll to 866.
Those who died today include a 61-year-old woman from Soura Srinagar and an 81-year-old woman from Bandipora.
The Soura woman was admitted to a hospital here on September 9 and died today.
The Bandipora woman was admitted to SKIMS Bemina on September 3 and died today.
With these deaths, 866 people have succumbed to the virus in Jammu and Kashmir so far. Among them 723 are from the Valley while 143 others are from Jammu division.
Srinagar district with 248 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 112, Budgam 70, Pulwama 60, Anantnag 53, Kupwara 56, Kulgam 40, Shopian 29, Bandipora 28 and Ganderbal 25.
