JAMMU, May 23: As a part of ongoing drive to recruit eligible youth from the unrepresented areas, a special recruitment rally was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Police in Nagrota Sainik School Grounds today. The recruitment was conducted for 103 villages falling in the jurisdiction of three Nyabats.
Under the close supervision of Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda, a team of Police officers including Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone, Dilbagh Singh, Deputy Inspector General of Police Jammu-Kathua Range, J.P. Singh, AIG (Personnel) PHQ, Ghulam Hassan Bhat SSP Jammu Prabhat Singh, Additional SP Jammu Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Deputy Superintendents of Police Sanjay Kumar and Sheikh Zaffar ullah conducted various physical tests of the candidates.
A total of 86 youth including 2 females were found eligible, fulfilling the criteria laid down and selected on the spot during the rally. Out of the selected candidates 13 are graduates, 44 having 10+2 qualification and the remaining are matriculates.
Congratulating the selected recruits, the Director General of Police said that the drive has been organised in different areas of Jammu and Kashmir with the aim to provide employment to the eligible youth of the unrepresented areas.
Mr. Khoda asked the recruits that since they have become part of a disciplined force, they would have to make public service their sole motive. “Men in Khaki” are directly related to the public, who are always seen with the people in the times of peace and trouble. By this way they are doing a noble service, besides earning their livelihood, DGP added. He stressed upon them that while performing duties in the field they would have to ensure that justice is done to all without any discrimination.
Inspector General of Police, Dilbagh Singh and Deputy Inspector General of Police, J.P.Singh also addressed the selected recruits and stressed upon them to strengthen the image of the organisation by the dint of their dedication and discipline.
Ishan Anand, a graduate in commerce hailing from Nagrota said that his father is running a small business and he was looking for his job anxiously. Now he has been recruited and could support his family, besides serving the public through the department.
Tazeeb Beigh, an orphan from Harlani, said that he was much interested in Police Department and now he has succeeded in getting himself enrolled in the uniformed force.
Sarla Devi from Chaddali, whose father is a farmer, could not express her joy when selected. Iqbal Mohammad, also a science graduate said that he was happy to join a disciplined force where he could serve the people better.
