JAMMU, Apr 23: A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Ayurvedic Congress (JKAC) met Health Minister, Shabir Ahmad Khan, here today and apprised him about the most significant problems faced by ISM professionals in the State.
The delegation led by Dr BD Gupta, senior vice-president, JKAC, comprised of Dr HN Patwari, Dr TR Gupta, Dr PD Raina, Dr Ashok Gupta and Dr BR Sharma.
The delegation submitted a detailed memorandum to the Minister and had a thorough discussion on all the issues, which included establishment of provincial Directorates, provision of staff for single handed 45 dispensaries, regularization of nearly 90 non-sanctioned dispensaries, creation of administrative staff for newly created districts, elections of Board of Ayurvedic Unani System, creation of B-grade specialist posts for each district, establishment of new dispensaries and immediate admission process for Government Ayurvedic College, Jammu.
In response, the Minister told the delegation that necessary steps are being taken to streamline the functioning of AYUSH Department. He also issued instructions to concerned authorities to submit a detailed report in this regard.
