50 Kanals of State land retrieved, illegal structure demolished

KATHUA, Sept 17: Continuing its drive against the land encroachment, the district administration Kathua launched an anti encroachment drive against land grabbers at village Channgran today.
The drive was launched on the directives of Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, OP Bhagat and under the supervision of ACR, Devender Paul and tehsildar, Gourav Sharma.

To avert any untoward incident and resistance by the land mafia heavy deployment of police personnel was engaged during the drive. Two JCBs were put into service which demolished two shops constructed on State land. A structure of Gujjar family was also demolished and the land was vacated. The drive was launched to retrieve 50 Kanals of State land said ACR, Devender Paul.
He said that the action is taken under anti encroachment drive and the more structures will be demolished in near future constructed on State or Forest land. He said that those encroaching the State land will never be tolerated and such drives would continue in future. He also warned those who are in illegal occupation of Government land to remove the encroachments on their own failing which Government will take legal action.
