22 hurt in two bus accidents

MENDHAR, May 23: At least twenty-two persons were injured in two separate road accidents in Mendhar and BG area of district Poonch today.
Reports said at least 16 persons were injured after a bus bearing registration No. JK-12/9933, coming from Poonch to Rajouri skidded off the road and fell into a gorge at Narian Walla Nakka, near Bhata Dhurian  under Gursai police jurisdiction at around 5.30 pm. It was said that after some mechanical snag, the vehicle went out of control and met with the accident.
Immediately after the mishap, residents of the area rushed to the spot. The police also reached there after some time. The injured were shifted to PHC Bhata Dhurian where some of them were discharged after first aid while nearly ten persons were shifted to District hospital Rajouri. The police registered a case in this connection.
In yet another mishap, at least six students of Muqaddas Degree College, Mendhar, were injured. The accident took place when the college bus was carrying students from Uchhad to Mendhar. The bus skidded off the road and also collided with a stationary Maruti car No. JK02M/6896, causing it extensive damage. The police rushed to the spot. The injured students were removed to Mendhar hospital. A case was also registered in this connection.
