JAMMU, Sept 25: Vice Chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology, Prof JP Sharma has been nominated as a member of General Assembly of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), New Delhi.
Professor Sharma’s selection was confirmed in the recent meeting of ICCR Governing body held under the chairmanship of Dr Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, President ICCR.
Professor Sharma was previously posted as Joint Director (Extension) ICAR-IARI, New Delhi. He has also worked as Head, Division of Agricultural Extension and Director, Centre for Advanced Faculty Training (Extension) at IARI, New Delhi. He has published more than 300 papers in reputed journals, magazines and newspapers.
The ICCR was founded in 1950 by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first Education Minister. Its objectives are to actively participate in the formulation and implementation of policies and programmes pertaining to India’s external cultural relations; to foster and strengthen cultural relations and mutual understanding between India and other countries.
