JAMMU, Apr 24 : To celebrate Manav Ekta Divas Sant Nirankari Mission, Jammu today organised a Blood Donation Camp at Satsang Bhawan Shastri Nagar.
Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, who was chief guest on the occasion, inaugurated the camp.
Describing blood donation as selfless service to humanity, the Deputy Chief Minister said that all the volunteers who come forward for donation are heroes in real sense as their blood would give life to others. He said serving humanity through blood donation is noblest of service and all those who are involved in the field deserve a special applause from society.
“Those who donate blood infact donate life and it is the highest form of donation by which we can show our commitment and compassion for mankind,” he added.
The day is celebrated in remembrance of Satguru Baba Gurubachan Singh Maharaj and other missionaries who laid down their lives for the mission. The blood camp was organised with the collaboration of Indian Red Cross Society and Blood & Transfusion department, Government Medical College, Jammu collected the blood.
Lauding efforts of the mission, Mr. Tara Chand said that the Nirankari Mission has been continuously involved in serving society by way of preaching spirituality as well as organizing medical and blood camps. He said all out efforts are being done by the mission to carry forward the message given by Baba Hardev Singh Maharaj that nobody should die due to scarcity of blood and blood should flow in veins not in drains.
Society at large needs to be made aware about the benefits of blood donation so that more and more people volunteer for the noble act, he added.
Sanyojak Rev Kuldeep Singh presented vote of thanks. A satsang programme was also held on the occasion by Rev Ajit Singh.
