Kissan Congress stages protest against Farm Bills

JAMMU, Sept 28: Dozens of farmers from Suchetgarh and R.S Pura areas of Jammu division under the banner of All J&K Kissan Congress staged a protest demonstration against Farm Bills.
Led by Ch. Gharu Ram, Former Minister and Chairman of J&K Kissan Congress and Prabhu Singh, Vice-Chairman, the protesters raised slogans against BJP Government at the Centre.
A handout stated that the protest was a part of Kissan Congress initiated ‘Satyagraha’ against BJP led Government for amending Farm Bills 2020.
Talking to reporters, Gharu Ram said that Farm Bills must be withdrawn as they are not beneficial for farmers. “Under Farm Bills the farmers will be enslaved at the hands of private players and big business houses,” he claimed.
Gharu Ram said, “By these Bills farmers income and the price of produce will be directly in the hands of big corporate houses and farmers will have no control over Minimum Support Price.”
The agitating famers said that their Mandi system of buying and selling of produce will totally vanish and they will be forced to sell their crop production at meager costs.
Gharu Ram asserted that the ‘Satyagraha’ shall continue till October 2 in which several protests and rallies will be organized to resent against the BJP Government.
Prominent among protesters included S. Raweil Singh, Prem Chand Sarpanch, Jung Bahadur, Des Raj, Satya Devi, Rani Devi, Ramnik Singh,Tara Choudhary, Ghara Choudhary, Youth Congress activists Neeraj Choudhary, District President Jammu Rural Youth Congress, Arjun Kumar, Shiv Bhan and others.
