Redress grievances of J&K women married outside: NSF

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Sept 28: The National Secular Forum (NSF) today flayed the local BJP leaders of making hollow claims on providing domicile benefits to local women married outside Jammu and Kashmir and urged the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene and fulfill the promises made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah while abrogating the special status of J&K State on August 5, 2019.
Addressing a press conference here today, Dr Vikas Sharma, UT President, National Secular Forum (NSF) stated that daughters of Jammu and Kashmir have been deprived of the facility of domicile certificates as new domicile Law seems devoid of any such mention aimed at issuing domicile benefits to the children of JK women married outside JK.
He urged the UT administration led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to immediately intervene into the issue and redress the grievances of J&K women married outside the Union Territory by providing domicile certificates to their children.
Among those who were present in the press-conference included Papinder Singh, Pushpinder Singh and Rahul Sharma.
