PHE employees’ strike enters 5th day

JAMMU, Sept 29: The ongoing ‘Kaam Chhor Hartal’ of PHE Employees United Front is still continuing and entered 5th consecutive day, today.
The strike is being spearheaded under the banner of PHE Employees United Front throughout the Jammu Province demanding regularization of daily rated workers, release of their wages month wise, clearance of all pending earned wages of workers and revocation of illegal rider of 12 vouchers immediately.
The members of PHE Employees United Front including Mohan Lal, Navdeep Singh, Ravi Hans, Hoshiar Singh, Bhanu Partap and Rajinder Singh said that more than 22000 daily wagers/casual workers/ITI Trained/Land Donors and Need Base workers have been working in Jal Shakti Department since last 26 years.
“Our workers working against meager amount of Rs 225 per day and regular employees are being paid Rs 45000 to 50000 per month for the same work while as we have same assignments, same working hours and same responsibilities that of a regular employee,” they added.
They said that even after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A no change comes in the life of daily rated workers of J&K UT. They appealed LG Manoj Sinha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to intervene personally in the matter and issued the order to J&K administration for resolving the genuine demands of poor daily wagers.
