JAMMU, Sept 30: National Awami United Party (NAUP) National President, Sandeep Singh has urged the Central as well as J&K Union Territory (UT) government to recruit more Ayurvedic doctors in J&K.
In a meeting Singh said that in the COVID-19 pandemic it is very important to create awareness about Indian traditional medicines and practices in entire J&K.
He also said that COVID infection cases are increasing day-by-day in rural as well as urban areas of J&K due to which patient load has increased in hospitals, Community Health Centres and other medical and health institutions.
NAUP leader said that Ayurvedic system of healthcare remained a trusted measure for immunity boosting in the fight against COVID.
He also said, many times Ministry of AYUSH has advised Ayurvedic products to keep ones immunity strong.
Singh urged upon the government to expedite the recruitment process of Ayurvedic doctors by walk-in interviews because the overwhelming burden of patients in J&K may not be met by the available doctors.
He also said that many COVID wards have been created in every district though there is a huge shortage of doctors and paramedics due to which healthcare system has almost collapsed.
“Junior Doctors are working under extreme stresses so the senior ones too should be put on regular duties even during evening,” he maintained adding: “To monitor the functioning of the wards, ICUs, isolation centers etc CCTV cams are being installed as there were lot of complaints.
Om Raj Rana, senior NAUP leader, Chintan Gupta, District Vice President Jammu and others were also present in the meeting.
