JAMMU, Oct 2: Bharatiya Yog Sansthan (BYS) Jammu has been celebrating October 2 as Yog Divas every year. This is one of the six national level events being celebrated by the Sansthan. This year, because of the ongoing pandemic, the function could not be organized at Yog Ashram Gole Gujral Jammu.
The programme was, therefore, held on a digital platform from the Sansthan’s Headquarter Delhi and was telecasted live on YouTube Channel. As a result, the programme was not only viewed in India but also abroad by thousands of Yog Sadakhs and people in general. About one thousand Yog lovers from Jammu participated in the function. The programme started with Deep Prajwalan simultaneously at various locations and was followed by Saraswati Vandana by Dr Minu Gupta and Shashi Bakshi.
Senior Yogacharyas from Central Committee including Satya Pal Sharma, president BYS J&K conducted Asanas, Pranayam and Dhyan.
Nation general secretary of the Sansthan, Des Raj delivered an informative talk on “Management of Diabetes through Yog” in a simple but effective language. Thousands of people had been eagerly waiting for this lecture. He classified diabetes into three main categories. He listed out the reasons and symptoms for diabetes. He suggested that a change in lifestyle and eating habits followed by regular Yog Abyas are the easiest ways to manage the diseases of diabetes.
The president of the Sanasthan Jawahar Lal blessed the participants with good wishes.
President of the Delhi NCR and Central Committee member CA Lalit Gupta through the digital platform presented vote of thanks.
The participants were informed that throughout the country Bharatiya Yog Sansthan is running more than 4000 Yog centres where Yoga is taught free of cost. People were urged to join regular Sadhna at any of these centres. The function ended with Shanti prayers by Dr Minu Gupta.
