Srinagar, Oct 2: Five people today died in Kashmir due to COVID-19 taking the number of deaths in Jammu and Kashmir to 1214 and Valley reported 487 fresh cases of Coronavirus taking the J&K tally to 77253.
Among the five deaths, three were reported from Srinagar and two Budgam districts.
A 65-year-old man from Harwan died at SKIMS hospital in Soura , 13 days after he was admitted to the hospital.
A 65-year-old man from Pakharpora Budgam died at Chest Diseases hospital in Srinagar. He was admitted to the facility on September 29.
An 85-year-old man from Brain Nishat in district Srinagar died a week after he was admitted to the hospital.
A 65-year-old woman from Gundipora Beerwah in district Budgam who was admitted with bilateral community acquired pneumonia died 11 days after being admitted to the SMHS hospital here today.
And Valley today reported 487 cases of COVID taking the overall tally of Coronavirus positive cases in J&K to 77253.
Srinagar reported 181 cases, Budgam 54, Baramulla 64, Pulwama 29, Anantnag 32, Bandipora 58, Kupwara 25, Ganderbal 28, Kulgam 6 and Shopian 10.
With these fresh cases today in Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar has 15226 positive cases with 2103 active, 12828 recovered, 295 deaths; Baramulla has 4491 positive cases with 1374 active, 2993 recovered, 124 deaths; Pulwama reported 3996 positive cases with 403 active cases, 3524 recovered, 69 deaths; Kulgam has 2285 positive cases with 111 active, 2131 recoveries, 43 deaths; Shopian has 2039 positive cases with 157 active, 1850 recovered, 32 deaths; Anantnag district has 3567 positive cases with 441 active, 3060 recovered, 66 deaths; Budgam has 4980 positive cases with 846 active and 4049 recovered, 85 deaths; Kupwara has 3665 positive cases with 737 active, 2861 recovered, 67 deaths; Bandipora has 3492 positive cases with 431 active, 3024 recovered, 37 deaths and Ganderbal has 2946 positive cases with 333 active cases, 2584 recoveries and 29 deaths.
And out of 77253 positive cases, 16089 are active, 59952 have recovered and 1212 have died including 847 in Kashmir division.
So far 1667587 samples were processed and 1590334 tested negative and 77253 positive.
Meanwhile, 410 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals in Kashmir.
