Two narco smugglers held with heroin, poppy straw

SAMBA, Oct 3: Samba and Kathua police today arrested two narcotic smugglers and recovered 80 Kilograms of Poppy Straw and 10 grams of heroin from their possession.
According to the police sources, a team of Police Station (PS) Samba headed by Inspector Rajesh Jasrotia, SHO Police Station Samba laid a vehicle Nakka checking at Mansar Morh area of Samba. During the Nakka checking police intercepted a vehicle bearing Registration Number JK21E- 9565 which was coming from Kashmir side and loaded with apple box and moving towards Punjab. During the checking of truck, police recovered 80 kilograms of Poppy Straw from the truck which was concealed in apple boxes. Police arrested the driver of the truck and also seized the vehicle on spot.

The drug peddler has been identified as Vijay Kumar, son of Sewa Ram resident of village Sinki Chapri area of Samba.
The raid was conducted under the overall supervision of SSP Samba, Rajesh Sharma under the direct supervision of DYSP Headquarter Samba.
In this regard Police has taken cognizance of the matter and started further investigations.
Billawer police arrested a Punjab based drug peddler who was transporting the drugs to Billawer area.
As per reports, a police party led by SHO, Vishal Sharma laid a special naka at Dhar road near Beril Morh Billawar. During the naka checking one motor cycle bearing Registration No. PB 06T- 2136 which was driven by one Rash Paul, S/O Tarlok Chand, R/O Paniar tehsil Dinanagar, district Gurdasspur who is coming from Parnalla towards Billawar was signalled to stop by police party. During the physical verification of motorcyclist 45 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.
The drug peddler was arrested on the spot and the contraband was also seized.
In this regard a case FIR No.102/2020 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS ACT has been registered at this Police Station and investigation was entrusted to S. I, Sat Paul Singh.
