Week-long online course on entrepreneurship concludes

JAMMU, Oct 3: Organized by Start-Up cell of Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Jammu, one-week-long short-term course on “Entrepreneurship: A Way of Thinking” through online mode, concluded today.
The course was organized in collaboration with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra and under the chairmanship of Talat Parvez Rohella, Commissioner/ Secretary to Government, Higher Education Department.
The objective behind the course was to provide constructive direction and reorient the minds of those who choose a career path different from the traditional roles. Moreover, the course focused to help the budding entrepreneurs to strengthen the entrepreneurial motives, acquire skills and capabilities necessary for playing the entrepreneurial role effectively.
The speakers of different sessions were Mohit Kumar (Territory Manager, HDFC Life, Kanpur), Dr Ashutosh Srivastava (Director Business, JNPS OxyJoy Private Limited, Varanasi), Dr Arun Kumar (ABV-IIITM, Gwalior), Dr Anil Kumar (Metropolitan University, London, UK), Aditya Kashyap (founder of Fresh Bridge Technologies Pvt Ltd, Delhi), Dr Himanshu Shrivastava (SAS, R&D, Melbourne, Australia), Ashish Yadav (Leadership Team at Box8, Pune), etc.
Sessions primarily focused on various topics on entrepreneurship like how to start a good business, key points for success, basics/importance of entrepreneurship design, thinking and team building, journey from idea to product, role of marketing, etc.
Dr Ravinder Kumar Sinha (Vice Chancellor SMVDU Katra) and Dr Sameru Sharma (Principal GCET, Jammu) along with faculty Dr Bhawna Sharma, Associate Professor and Chairperson Start-Up Cell, Sheetal Gandotra, Associate Professor and Coordinator Start-Up Cell, GCET Jammu, Dr Vijay Kumar Sharma and Dr Sachin Kumar Gupta, Assistant Professors, SMVDU Katra, were also present.
Earlier Sheetal Gandotra in her welcome address said that the course would motivate participants for entrepreneurial career and make them capable of perceiving and exploiting successfully opportunities for enterprises, developing skills of potential entrepreneur and help them in developing their own ventures.
The course was attended by more than 500 participants comprising of students, budding entrepreneurs and faculty of various Engineering Institutes, degree colleges and organizations across the country.
