JAMMU, Apr 25: J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages today released noted Dogri literateur, ND Jamwal’s two latest books “Khoob Samhale Bhav Shuale” and “Te Dogri Ghazal” at a function held at KL Saigal hall here today.
The function was attended by Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, Dr Sudhir S Bloeria, Dr Lalit Magotra, Dr Om Goswami, Mohan Lal Komal, Shyam Talib, Darshan Darshi, Mohan Singh, Dr Shiv Dev Singh, Dr Satpal Srivats, Pooran Chand Bargotra, Dr Gian Singh, Arsh Sehbai, and Khalid Hussain. Secretary Academy, Khalid Bashir Ahmad was also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Bloeria described Jamwal as a very versatile writer and said that his contribution to Dogri language and literature was immense. Commending the efforts of the Academy for giving boost to literary and cultural activities, he said that the Academy should continue to make efforts in this direction.
Jamwal expressed gratitude to the Academy for releasing his latest books, saying that it was because of institutions like Academy that writing culture was witnessing a boost in the State.
Earlier, Academy’s additional secretary, Savita Bakshi presented the welcome address and said that Jamwal was a writer of note who had contributed a lot
to Dogri language, adding, the Academy would keep on encouraging writers like him.
As a part of the book release function, Mohan Singh and Dr Shiv Dev Singh read comprehensive papers highlighting various facets of Jamwal’s latest books. Both of them appreciated the effort of the writer in bringing out these books.
